Remembering November 11.
November 11 is one of my favourite days of the year.
Remembrance Day is the most honourable event we, Canadian's, celebrate.
Unfortunately, our national history is being forgotten and those that fought and are fighting for the preservation of our ideologies and moral-right are merely being forgotten.
This video is a little token to how November 11 is remembered in Vancouver.
The sounds from the ceremony make this little montage complete.
I hope to make more videos like this.

The EH! Team [Part One and Two]
So here it is.
After weeks and weeks of editing, I am proud to present The EH! Team.
This is my first attempt to make a lengthy [ten-minute] movie-like video and, let me tell you, it was a lot of work.
The EH! Team is a group of four Canadian broadcasters hired to save Canadian news from FOX's take over.
I play Sean Madden, leader of FOX's northern division sent to take over Canadian news. Based on John Madden, my character is a bumbling idiot that managed to become a success within the United States of America.
Frustration, creative differences and attitudes tested the groups patience during filming but we managed to push through it.
I'm glad I had the opportunity to work with everyone in the group and I look forward to our future projects.

"L' Art Heist" - a silent feature
"L' Art Heist" is our first attempt at producing a video project.
I teamed up with three people from opposing Set E and we managed to create a great silent video.
"L'Art Heist" is about two thieves sent out on a mission to take a painting from the "National Gallery".
The silent video was purposely broadcast in black and white and filtered with 'bad-film' to establish an old-time Parisian style of cinematography.
The project came with a little controversy though. I break the 'axis of action' early on in the film but I stand by my claim that I knew what I was doing.
I learned that you need a lot of time to film these little projects. For this three minute video we were filming for nearly five hours, we used an hour of film and I edited for about ten hours.
A lot of work goes into the production and I couldn't be happier with the result.
The song is "Thick as Thieves" by Kasabian.

"If you're going to burn bridges you better know how to swim"
Our Visual Fundaments class divided into groups and sent out into the 'real world' to photograph whatever we wanted.
The group consists of Matthew J. Van Deventer, Anita Sthankiya, Aaron Mackay, James Lewis and Sasha Perrin.
The theme is BRIDGES so we set out to photograph different bridges around the Lower Mainland.
The group quickly found that it takes more than just the ability to point-and-shoot to take a good photo.
As you will see, we have many different styles of photos from unique angles, various depths of field as well as collections of beautiful colours.

GG in the House
David Johnston has become Canada's 28th Governor-General during an official ceremony held at Parliament Hill on October 1, 2010.
Johnston started his career as GG with a specialized ceremony that had 26 roses handed to him on Parliament Hill by specifically selected representatives from each province and territory.

Johnston's installation as the official representative to the royal family comes after Michaelle Jean's impressive five year career as the 27th Governor-General.

The great ticket hunt...
I've been scouring http://www.craigslist.ca/ for a floor ticket to tonight's Arcade Fire show.
If I manage to snag a cheap ticket, it will be my second time watching Canada's best band preform live.
