For the first time in Canadian history, our supreme governess, Queen Elizabeth II, was broadcast across the nation in a special 3D event.
Last night's CBC broadcast of Queen Elizabeth in 3D looks back at the 1953 Coronation of the Queen as well as her recent 2010 visit to Canada to celebrate 100 years of the Royal Canadian Navy.
A rare and impressive collection of previously unseen 3D footage truly made QE in 3D a unique and memorable experience for those few Royalists left within the Royal Dominion of Canada.
Despite not having the ideal conditions necessary to witness a broadcast in 3D, the nearly 60 years of iconic pomp and pageantry got me a little emotional, which fogged up my amber and blue 3D lensed glasses.
For more information on the next broadcast of Queen Elizabeth in 3D, or where to pick up a pair of 3D glasses please visit http://www.cbc.ca/documentaries/doczone/QE3D/.
